Jakarta Government's effort to ward off false news or hoaxes by launching new channel called 'Jala Hoaks' i s appreciated by one of Jakarta Council Commission A members, Wibi Andrino.

It is the right thing to launch this channel in order to ward off hoaxes about COVID-19

Because this channel is managed by Jakarta Communication, Information, and Statistic Agency (Diskominfotik), he considered, this channel plays an important role to ward off hoaxes on the internet and convey the facts, especially issues related to COVID-19 handling.

"It is the right thing to launch this channel in order to ward off hoaxes about COVID-19, such as false governor's circular letter that was spread on the social media a few days ago," he stated, Thursday (3/26).

He expected Jakarta Diskominfotik can collaborate with legislature in socializing Jala Hoaks channel thus more public complaints related to false information can be filtered out.

"Hopefully executive and legislative bodies can cooperate actively in filtering false information flow since the council has clear targets or constituencies," he closed.
